Do you like working at your desk?

Work doesn’t have to take place while sitting in front of your screen, in a long meeting or on a conference call.

It doesn’t necessarily happen while selling to a customer or in the office either.

Follow these three strategies, and you’ll feel happier and more productive when the pressure is on.

1. Walk For At Least Fifteen Minutes A Day

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs was a prolific walker.

He often invited colleagues and business partners on long walks around the Silicon Valley neighborhood area where he lived.

Jobs believed fresh air and exercise stimulates creative thinking.

Science is on his side. Research from Stanford University suggests walking substantially improves creative thinking.

It enables leaders to approach a problem from a different angle, whereas sitting in a boardroom thrashing out a problem is less effective.

Perhaps you and your colleagues could set up a walking team meeting.

If it helps, bring a notepad or a dictaphone so you can capture ideas as they arise.
